bathroom remodel – week three

the floor was able to be patched up at the start of week three. the tub filler is still on order but with some fancy work the plumbers put everything they needed into the foundation and everything should just click together when the materials finally show up.

we were able to use full 4×8 sheets of stone for the walls so there were no weird bands or gaps that break up the pattern.
templates for the shower walls, complete. cutting the stone, complete.
it was pretty amazing to see them maneuver the sheets into place and stick them up to the wall.
around the edges we went with some penciling of the same material and I’m really happy with how it came together with the exception that the shower was supposed to be bigger by a couple inches in one direction. i think we’ll survive.

it’s Wednesday and today they start on the tile. i wasn’t sold on the herringbone pattern at first but it really brings them room together once you see it finished.

thursday was more tile followed by more tile.

and more tile on Friday. they did an okay job with all the little plastic guides to help with the spacing and to make sure the tiles are all level with each other. there are a couple places that didn’t work out too great but 95% is pretty great.

stay tuned
