we have popcorn ceilings throughout the entire house. we should have had someone take it down before we moved in but with this being our first house we didn’t even think about having anything major done before we moved in. eh, live and learn.
so, with everything being taken apart I jumped up on a ladder over the weekend and took down the popcorn in the bath…. because I hate it.
first, up goes the plastic. this was probably 90% of the work/effort and we probably overdid it but it made for a super easy and quick cleanup

then it was just spray, scrape, and repeat.

not very difficult but was time-consuming. i won’t say I did the best job but it’ll do. we’ll probably end up paying someone to do most of the painting and I’ll ask them to float the couple of places where I went too deep or dug into the existing mud.
on the plus side, I think this will give me a great opportunity to put in a couple more cans and the in-ceiling speakers that I bought ~five years ago.
stay tuned
